The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior School Teacher of English to deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IBDP English. This role offers the chance to join a dynamic and high-achieving department, while contributing to the co-curricular life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and rigorous lessons across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IBDP English.
  • Act as a Senior School Form Tutor, supporting student well-being and development.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of the English curriculum.
  • Participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities, including evening and weekend events.
  • Support and mentor students in both academic and pastoral areas.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the school’s high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Attend staff development and training opportunities in the UK.
  • Stay up to date with current educational research and best practices in teaching English.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching IBDP English A is essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take on leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in a UK or international school environment.
  • Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Experience with co-curricular leadership or extracurricular involvement.
  • Fluency in a second language.
  • Previous experience in a form tutor or pastoral role.
