The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior School Teacher of English to deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IBDP English. This role offers the chance to join a dynamic and high-achieving department, while contributing to the co-curricular life of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and rigorous lessons across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IBDP English.
- Act as a Senior School Form Tutor, supporting student well-being and development.
- Contribute to the planning and development of the English curriculum.
- Participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities, including evening and weekend events.
- Support and mentor students in both academic and pastoral areas.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the school’s high standards of teaching and learning.
- Attend staff development and training opportunities in the UK.
- Stay up to date with current educational research and best practices in teaching English.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience.
- Experience teaching IBDP English A is essential.
- Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take on leadership responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience in a UK or international school environment.
- Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme.
- Experience with co-curricular leadership or extracurricular involvement.
- Fluency in a second language.
- Previous experience in a form tutor or pastoral role.
