Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Support the head of department in leading and developing the English team.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures student growth.
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the department.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Encourage student involvement in the wider life of the English department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Proven ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong leadership and team-working skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and academic success.
Preferred
- Experience in department leadership or team management.
- Background in curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement strategies.
