The Opportunity:

A school is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified English Teacher to join its innovative and successful department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about teaching and committed to student success at all key stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English Language and English Literature lessons to students from Y7 to Y11, and A Level students.
  • Support the development of the new Film Studies A Level course.
  • Contribute to the planning, delivery, and assessment of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and CPD opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
  • Engage in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature.
  • Experience of teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching Film Studies or related subjects.
  • A track record of successful student outcomes and progression.
  • Experience of working within a Catholic education setting.
  • Leadership experience or a willingness to take on departmental responsibilities.
