The Opportunity:
As an English Tutor, you will play a key role in enhancing student learning through personalized instruction and curriculum delivery. You will support students in achieving academic success while working collaboratively with department staff to develop targeted interventions and revision strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, one-to-one tuition in English to students across a range of ability levels.
- Develop and implement intervention programmes to support students who require additional help.
- Collaborate with department heads and teachers to monitor student progress and provide feedback.
- Conduct revision sessions tailored to exam requirements and student needs.
- Plan and deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in line with school standards.
- Support students in developing their English skills up to GCSE level and beyond.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Contribute to the school’s culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree level qualification in English or a related subject.
- Minimum AS/A2 level qualification in English.
- Experience in teaching English to students up to GCSE level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering one-to-one tuition.
- Familiarity with intervention strategies for underperforming students.
- Experience with exam revision and preparation.
- Background in working within a school or educational setting.
