The Opportunity:
We are looking for an ESOL Lecturer 16-18 to join a dynamic and supportive team, delivering impactful lessons that help young people develop their English skills and achieve their educational and career goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of an innovative, creative and engaging ESOL curriculum for 16–18 year olds
- Deliver ESOL lessons from Pre-Entry Level to Entry 3
- Deliver Functional Skills Maths lessons from Entry 1 to Entry 3
- Work closely with the Head of Section to design a dynamic and inclusive curriculum
- Ensure the curriculum responds to the needs of students, local communities, employers and external agencies
- Play an active role in creating meaningful enrichment and work experience opportunities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning standards
- Support students to achieve outstanding outcomes and a positive, high quality learning experience
- Collaborate with external organisations, college partners and local employers to meet the diverse needs of learners
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above, or be working towards one
- An ESOL subject specialism, or a willingness to work towards this
- Experience delivering ESOL, Entry Level maths and, ideally, ICT
- The ability to motivate, support and engage mixed-ability learners
- A commitment to inclusive practice and excellent learner outcomes
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to departmental development
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development
- Experience with Functional Skills delivery
- Experience working with 16–18 year olds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits:
- Part-time, fixed-term contract until the end of the 2025/26 academic year
- Competitive salary range of £11,529.08 to £20,825.94 (actual salary, 16 hours per week)
