The Opportunity:

As an Estates Manager, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and development of the school estate. This role is central to ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient learning environment for students and staff. You will work closely with the Principal and support teams to deliver high standards across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management, maintenance, and long-term development of the school estate
  • Act as the Responsible Person for Fire Safety, Legionella, and Asbestos
  • Oversee contractors and ensure all work meets compliance and safeguarding standards
  • Manage planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across the site
  • Work closely with the Principal and Central Estates Team to deliver compliance and operational standards
  • Support school events, lettings, and wider community use of the site
  • Ensure the school remains safe, secure, and operational at all times
  • Oversee energy management, cleaning contracts, waste management, and grounds maintenance

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in estates, facilities, or site management
  • Strong understanding of compliance and health and safety legislation
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with staff, contractors, and visitors
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient school environment

Preferred

  • A recognised health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH/IOSH)
