The Opportunity:

As an Estates Operative, you will provide essential support to ensure the smooth running of the school’s facilities and services. This role is vital to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient learning environment for students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school’s non-Private Finance Initiative premises and site.
  • Oversee security, mechanical and electrical systems, cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
  • Deliver porterage and estate operative duties to support school operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all areas of the site.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the needs of the school community are met.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of facilities and equipment.
  • Assist with the implementation of maintenance schedules and repair plans.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in estates or facilities management within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or similar environment.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Experience with maintenance planning and project management.
  • Familiarity with school operations and support services.
