The Opportunity:
As an Estates Operative, you will provide essential support to ensure the smooth running of the school’s facilities and services. This role is vital to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient learning environment for students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the school’s non-Private Finance Initiative premises and site.
- Oversee security, mechanical and electrical systems, cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
- Deliver porterage and estate operative duties to support school operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all areas of the site.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the needs of the school community are met.
- Monitor and report on the condition of facilities and equipment.
- Assist with the implementation of maintenance schedules and repair plans.
- Provide a high level of customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in estates or facilities management within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or similar environment.
- Basic mechanical and electrical skills.
- Experience with maintenance planning and project management.
- Familiarity with school operations and support services.
