The Opportunity:

As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and fair administration of external and internal exams. Your work will be essential in maintaining the integrity of the examination process in accordance with established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the integrity of external and internal examinations in line with JCQ and school policies.
  • Supervise candidates during exams, maintaining a calm and focused environment.
  • Adhere to all safeguarding and examination procedures, including completing required training.
  • Attend mandatory training and meetings, including an annual session before the summer term.
  • Support examinations at key times throughout the academic year, including GCSE/IGCSE, A Level, and internal mock exams.
  • Be available for ad hoc sessions as required by the Head of Examinations.
  • Complete an availability schedule in advance of the summer term exams.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including recording exam details and managing session logs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Availability for external exams in May and June 2026, with at least 3 days per week during this period.
  • Willingness to attend mandatory training and meetings, including an annual session before the summer term.
  • Ability to attend an annual meeting and training session on 18th March 2026.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with willingness to undergo DBS checks.
  • Familiarity with examination procedures and a strong attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience in exam invigilation or a related role.
  • Previous experience in education or a similar sector.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to support examinations at various times throughout the academic year.
  • Proficiency in using word processing software.
