The Opportunity:

As an Exam Invigilator, you will ensure that all internal and public exams are conducted in line with JCQ regulations, supporting the smooth and secure running of the school’s examination period. This is a flexible, casual role ideal for those seeking part-time work in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare examination rooms according to the requirements of the examination board, including distributing papers and materials.
  • Supervise candidates in a quiet and unobtrusive manner, ensuring all examination board regulations are strictly followed.
  • Support students with access arrangements by ensuring they use their accommodations appropriately.
  • Assist candidates during exams, such as helping them find seats or answering questions as needed.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and record-keeping, including seating plans, attendance registers, and incident logs.
  • Address minor behavior issues in line with academy policy and report any breaches of conduct immediately.
  • Maintain the security of examination papers and scripts throughout the exam process.
  • Ensure the examination room is tidy and fully stocked for the next session.
  • Be familiar with fire evacuation and other emergency procedures relevant to exam invigilation.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as an exam invigilator.
  • Experience working in a school environment.
  • Familiarity with JCQ regulations and exam procedures.
