The Opportunity:

As an Examinations Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and compliant administration of internal and external examinations. This position offers the chance to contribute to the academic success of students while working within a collaborative and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operational management of all school examinations, ensuring the smooth running of internal and public exams.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all matters relating to the administration of awarding body examinations and assessments.
  • Line manage and oversee the appointment, training, and performance of the Exam Invigilator team.
  • Plan and publish exam schedules, organise exam rooms, and ensure appropriate staffing.
  • Work closely with colleagues and systems professionals to manage exam data and resolve exam-related queries.
  • Ensure full compliance with JCQ regulations and all awarding body requirements, maintaining the integrity and security of the examination process.
  • Maintain robust systems and procedures to ensure all key deadlines and processes are fully met.
  • Proactively support the Head of Centre in preventing and addressing any instances of malpractice or maladministration.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in examination administration or a related field.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with pupils, staff, and external bodies.
  • Experience in managing teams or line managing staff.

Preferred

  • Experience with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements.
  • Familiarity with exam management systems and data handling procedures.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of malpractice prevention and examination security protocols.
