Exams Officer required for term-time position with additional summer responsibilities.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Exams Officer to manage the school’s Management Information Systems and coordinate all aspects of internal and external examinations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of academic processes and maintaining high standards of data management and exam administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school’s Management Information Systems (MIS), including iSAMS and Connect.
  • Coordinate the collection, handling, and reporting of student data to ensure timely and accurate communication with parents.
  • Oversee the setup and management of exam venues in accordance with JCQ regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Data Protection Legislation and maintain the accuracy of personal data held in school systems.
  • Develop and monitor policies and procedures to ensure adherence to JCQ rules and regulations.
  • Liaise with awarding bodies, SENCo, and other stakeholders on all examination-related matters.
  • Recruit, train, and manage invigilators in compliance with employment and child protection laws.
  • Collate and submit exam entries on time, and ensure all coursework marks are submitted to examining bodies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in managing school MIS systems such as iSAMS or similar platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of JCQ regulations and examination procedures.
  • Strong understanding of data protection legislation and student data management.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar role within a school or educational institution.
  • Familiarity with online assessment platforms and reporting systems.
  • Experience in training staff or managing exam-related processes.
  • Knowledge of access arrangements and special educational needs procedures.
