EYFS Tutor needed in Haslemere with experience in SEN support.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced EYFS Tutor to deliver play-based learning to young students in the Haslemere area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children with SEN and who can provide high-quality support during the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, play-based learning tailored to the needs of young students.
  • Support students with special educational needs through individualized and structured teaching methods.
  • Work closely with parents, schools, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
  • Follow Bright Heart's training and safeguarding guidelines to ensure the highest standards of care and protection.
  • Provide regular feedback and updates on student progress to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Attend ongoing training and development sessions to enhance teaching practice and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with Bright Heart’s procedures.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and ensure a positive learning experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong subject knowledge in early years education.
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one, with A-levels.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list).
  • Two relevant professional references and a parent reference.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods.
  • Experience with play-based learning strategies.
  • Previous experience with students who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Flexibility to work in various settings, including in-person and online.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
