The Opportunity:
As a Facilities Manager, you will ensure the school’s buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. This role is essential to creating a positive learning environment and plays a key part in the smooth running of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the upkeep, safety, and presentation of the school’s buildings and grounds.
- Oversee the maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and facilities to the highest standard.
- Conduct health and safety assessments and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Provide security, emergency support, and day-to-day assistance across the school.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, manage maintenance schedules, and oversee projects.
- Deliver hands-on caretaking services, ensuring the school remains safe, tidy, and welcoming.
- Support the operation of heating, lighting, deliveries, and other site services.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE in Maths and English
- Experience in facilities management or a related field
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Resilience, approachability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Experience with managing contractors and maintenance projects
- A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving
