The Opportunity:

As the Faculty Lead for Communications, you will lead the English and Media Departments, shaping a challenging and engaging curriculum for students of all abilities. You will inspire and support a team of staff, delivering high-quality teaching and driving continuous improvement in learning outcomes. This is a key leadership role with the potential for TLR scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English and Media Departments, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and inclusive curriculum for students across all year groups.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive school-wide improvements in teaching and learning.
  • Model excellent teaching practice and support staff through tailored CPD opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects the school’s Catholic values and mission.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
  • Engage with the wider school community, including parents and students, to support the school’s vision and goals.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leader to ensure alignment with the school’s strategic priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in English and Media education.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally as a Head of Faculty or similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading departmental improvement and driving academic success.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in leading or supporting CPD initiatives.
  • A passion for student well-being and holistic development.
