The Opportunity:

As a Film and TV Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, industry-focused education that prepares students for careers in film and television. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and practical lessons in film and television production, covering camera operation, lighting, sound, and on-set protocols.
  • Support students in developing technical and creative skills across all stages of production, from pre-production to post-production.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, industry practitioners, and creative partners to enhance the learning experience and deliver cross-pathway projects.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of major screenings, live or recorded productions, and other industry-related events.
  • Foster a supportive and professional learning environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, heads of department, and support staff to ensure alignment with the school’s educational goals and industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of high achievement and self-confidence among students and staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong practical and technical experience in film and television production, including camera operation, lighting, sound, and on-set protocols.
  • Understanding of the full production process from pre-production through to post-production.
  • Experience in directing, producing, cinematography, or editing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, technicians, and industry practitioners.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and professional learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience working in professional film, television, or digital content environments.
  • Background in education or teaching, particularly in screen-related disciplines.
  • Familiarity with industry partnerships and curriculum development.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
