The Opportunity:
As a Finance Assistant, you will provide essential financial administrative support to the management team by managing transactional accounting processes and ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and Trust policies. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the school’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage transactional accounting processes, including manual and system-based accounting entries.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time.
- Handle physical cash collection, banking, and related financial procedures.
- Coordinate the purchase of goods and supplies to ensure value for money.
- Manage supplier and budget account holder queries efficiently.
- Organise staff business travel and transport for school visits.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and Trust policies.
- Support the management team with financial administrative tasks.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- ICT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- Excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Experience with financial procedures, including order processing, invoice management, and payment reconciliation.
- A relevant accountancy qualification or currently studying towards one (e.g., AAT, ACCA).
Preferred
- Experience in an educational setting or similar sector.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
