The Opportunity:

A Finance Manager is needed to support the Director of Finance and Operations in managing the school’s financial systems and processes. This role is essential in ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the Governors. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Finance team, contributing to the school’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the school’s financial systems and processes.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and ancillary information for the Governor’s Finance Sub-Committee and Council.
  • Support and deputise for the Director of Finance and Operations on financial matters.
  • Work closely with the Finance Officer to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Provide a positive and professional financial service to the school.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support the school’s financial planning and strategic goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Professional qualification in finance or accounting.
  • Experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Strong technical and IT literacy, including proficiency with financial software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take on responsibility in a supportive environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector or non-profit organisations.
  • Familiarity with school financial systems and processes.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting in a complex organisational setting.
