The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated Finance Manager to support the financial operations of the institution and contribute to its long-term financial planning. This role is essential in ensuring the school's financial health and compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Oversee cash flow and ensure accurate preparation of management accounts.
- Prepare financial reports for senior leaders and Trustees to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with financial procedures, regulations, and audit requirements.
- Support statutory financial reporting and audit preparation.
- Manage VAT administration in accordance with current legislation.
- Provide clear and concise financial information to non-financial colleagues.
- Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies and planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant with relevant finance experience.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
- Experience in financial reporting and budgeting processes.
Preferred
- Experience in the education sector, particularly with school finance systems.
- Knowledge of charity finance requirements and regulations.
- Familiarity with financial software and accounting systems.
- Experience in a similar role within a large organisation or institution.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of circa £50k - £55k per annum.
