The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Finance Manager to support the financial operations of the institution and contribute to its long-term financial planning. This role is essential in ensuring the school's financial health and compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Oversee cash flow and ensure accurate preparation of management accounts.
  • Prepare financial reports for senior leaders and Trustees to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with financial procedures, regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Support statutory financial reporting and audit preparation.
  • Manage VAT administration in accordance with current legislation.
  • Provide clear and concise financial information to non-financial colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies and planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant with relevant finance experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
  • Experience in financial reporting and budgeting processes.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector, particularly with school finance systems.
  • Knowledge of charity finance requirements and regulations.
  • Familiarity with financial software and accounting systems.
  • Experience in a similar role within a large organisation or institution.
