The Opportunity:

As Finance Manager, you will oversee the financial operations of a high-achieving school, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their financial expertise in a dynamic, collaborative environment that values integrity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the school.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, financial reports, and statutory returns.
  • Lead and support a small, collaborative finance team.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with the Business Manager and other key stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain modern financial systems such as Xero and Approval Max.
  • Support the school’s financial planning and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial software such as Xero and Approval Max.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational institution.
  • Background in budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements in education.
  • Experience in leading and managing a small team.
