The Opportunity:

As a Financial Controller, you will manage the day-to-day financial operations of a school, including budgeting, accounts payable, and reporting. This role is essential to the smooth running of the school’s financial systems and supports the bursary programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the school’s financial operations, including billing and accounts payable.
  • Oversee budgeting and produce accurate management reports.
  • Support the bursary programme in collaboration with the Finance Bursar and Admissions Team.
  • Interact with stakeholders, including pupils and parents, to ensure financial processes are clear and efficient.
  • Provide support to the Finance Team as needed, covering duties when required.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support audits as required.
  • Contribute to the development of financial strategies that align with the school’s goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in financial management within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with bursary and financial aid programmes.
