The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Food and Catering Teacher to join a dynamic and driven team. This role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons that challenge and inspire students of all abilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver stimulating and challenging lessons in Food and Catering.
- Set appropriate and challenging work for students of all abilities.
- Deliver the AQA GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition course, or a suitable alternative if it aligns with the candidate's expertise.
- Support students in developing their practical and theoretical knowledge of food and nutrition.
- Contribute to the school's enrichment program and extracurricular activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Stay up to date with developments in the Food and Catering sector and incorporate relevant innovations into teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Food and Catering.
- Experience in teaching at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons to a range of abilities.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to the school's values of care, ambition, respect, and effort.
Preferred
- Experience with the AQA GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition course.
- Experience in developing and implementing enrichment opportunities.
- Experience in working within a House system or similar community-focused environment.
- Experience in promoting student cultural capital and character development.
