The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Food and Catering Teacher to join a dynamic and driven team. This role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons that challenge and inspire students of all abilities. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a school that values innovation, care, and excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver stimulating and challenging lessons in Food and Catering.
  • Set appropriate and challenging work for students of all abilities.
  • Deliver the AQA GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition course, or a suitable alternative if it aligns with the candidate's expertise.
  • Support students in developing their practical and theoretical knowledge of food and nutrition.
  • Contribute to the school's enrichment program and extracurricular activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the Food and Catering sector and incorporate relevant innovations into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Food and Catering.
  • Experience in teaching at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons to a range of abilities.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school's values of care, ambition, respect, and effort.

Preferred

  • Experience with the AQA GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition course.
  • Experience in developing and implementing enrichment opportunities.
  • Experience in working within a House system or similar community-focused environment.
  • Experience in promoting student cultural capital and character development.
