The Opportunity:

As a Food Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering an inspiring Food & Nutrition curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an exciting opportunity to shape young minds and encourage a lifelong interest in food, nutrition, and practical cooking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Food & Nutrition across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to deliver at GCSE or BTEC level.
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that engage students of all abilities and learning styles.
  • Guide students in developing practical cooking skills, knowledge of nutrition, and food safety practices.
  • Foster creativity and experimentation with ingredients and recipes to enhance student engagement.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Food & Nutrition curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Food & Nutrition.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and relevant examination specifications.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Food & Nutrition at GCSE or BTEC level.
  • Experience in curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Experience with extracurricular activities related to Food & Nutrition.
