The Opportunity:
As a Food Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering an inspiring Food & Nutrition curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an exciting opportunity to shape young minds and encourage a lifelong interest in food, nutrition, and practical cooking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Food & Nutrition across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to deliver at GCSE or BTEC level.
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that engage students of all abilities and learning styles.
- Guide students in developing practical cooking skills, knowledge of nutrition, and food safety practices.
- Foster creativity and experimentation with ingredients and recipes to enhance student engagement.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Food & Nutrition curriculum.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Food & Nutrition.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Understanding of the National Curriculum and relevant examination specifications.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Food & Nutrition at GCSE or BTEC level.
- Experience in curriculum development and resource creation.
- Experience with extracurricular activities related to Food & Nutrition.
