The Opportunity:

As a Food Technician, you will support the Food department in delivering high-quality practical lessons and enhancing student progress. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of Food Technology and a commitment to education and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of Food & Nutrition lessons through practical demonstrations and resource management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all Food Technology activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources.
  • Assist in the maintenance and organization of Food Technology equipment and facilities.
  • Provide guidance and support to students during practical lessons.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Food & Nutrition curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and inventory.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant Food Technology subject.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety compliance in Food Technology.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Previous experience in Food Technology or related subject areas.
  • Knowledge of current Food & Nutrition teaching practices.
  • Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
