Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Food Technology or Design Technology across the 11-16 age range.
  • Develop engaging and challenging curricula that support student achievement and personal development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student experiences.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities to maintain and improve teaching standards.

  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events where appropriate.
  • Ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages creativity and innovation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Food Technology or Design Technology.
  • Experience teaching at secondary level, ideally within a 11-16 age range.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a supportive school environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering cross-curricular projects or integrating technology into teaching.
  • Previous involvement in extracurricular or pastoral activities.
  • Experience with initial teacher training or mentoring.
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in Food Technology or Design Technology education.
