The Opportunity:
A Food Technology Technician is needed to support the Technology Department in delivering the Food Technology curriculum to students in KS3 and KS4. This role offers a chance to make a real impact on student learning while working in a supportive and high-performing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of Food Technology lessons by providing practical and technical assistance to both students and teachers.
- Ensure all equipment and resources are maintained to a high standard and ready for use.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of practical lessons and materials.
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance the learning experience for students.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment in line with health and safety standards.
- Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions.
- Keep accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance needs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Food Technology department's practices and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a similar role or demonstrable ability to work in a practical, hands-on environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student safety and wellbeing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of Food Technology curriculum and teaching practices.
- Experience with health and safety regulations in a kitchen or laboratory environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
