The Opportunity:
As a Forest School Teacher, you will lead creative and engaging outdoor learning experiences that help children build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of nature. This role is ideal for someone passionate about hands-on education and making a meaningful impact in a unique and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver inspiring Forest School sessions that promote independence, curiosity, and life skills
- Plan and deliver activities tailored to individual student needs and monitor progress
- Foster environmental awareness and sustainable thinking through outdoor experiences
- Maintain a safe and stimulating outdoor learning environment
- Collaborate with teaching staff, assistants, and parents to support a joined-up approach to learning
- Manage dynamic risks confidently and ensure the safety of all students
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and personal skills through outdoor education
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification (or willingness to achieve it)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience working with children in outdoor settings
- Understanding of child development and inclusive practice
- Confidence in managing risk and ensuring the safety of children outdoors
Preferred
- Experience in delivering outdoor learning programmes
- Knowledge of curriculum planning and child-centred teaching approaches
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in a school or educational setting with students with additional needs
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £39,000 per annum
- 4-day working week with full-time pay (subject to probation and terms)
