The Opportunity:

As the Foundation Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students across the school community. This is a strategic position that requires leadership, expertise, and a deep commitment to safeguarding and child protection practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate safeguarding and child protection practices across the school.
Manage and oversee all safeguarding referrals and ensure appropriate action is taken.
Provide expert advice and guidance to staff on safeguarding matters.
Deliver training and support to staff to embed a strong safeguarding culture.
Oversee policies and procedures related to safeguarding and wellbeing.
Support and coordinate Deputy DSLs at each school.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, including the Prevent duty.
Promote and support the mental health and wellbeing of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

Significant experience in safeguarding and child protection.
Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience working within a school or educational setting.
Commitment to promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people.

Preferred

Experience in managing safeguarding policies and procedures.
Knowledge of online safety and mental health support in educational settings.
Experience in delivering training and support to staff on safeguarding matters.
Experience with statutory safeguarding requirements and procedures.
