The Opportunity:

As a Foundation Development Manager, you will lead the development of a strategic fundraising plan to support the school’s bursary and scholarship programme. This role is central to creating a culture of philanthropy and ensuring that financial barriers do not limit opportunities for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure transformational funding.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and potential supporters.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to shape a sustainable development plan aligned with the school’s mission.
  • Articulate the impact of the school’s programmes to inspire investment and support.
  • Manage and grow the bursary and scholarship fund to support student access and diversity.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in all fundraising activities and reporting.
  • Lead and motivate a team focused on development and philanthropy.
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of fundraising initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in fundraising and development within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong track record in delivering successful development programmes and securing major donations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate impact and translate stories into compelling fundraising proposals.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of charitable fundraising and compliance requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience in education or youth-focused organisations.
  • Background in philanthropy or major gift fundraising.
  • Familiarity with bursary and scholarship programmes.
  • Experience in strategic planning and long-term development initiatives.
