The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Foundation GCSE Maths and English Tutor to work with students in the Woking area. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives while working with a reputable and award-winning tutoring agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality tuition in Maths and English to students at Foundation GCSE level
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and those requiring additional academic guidance
- Follow the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and education consultants
- Attend training sessions and CPD opportunities to enhance teaching practice
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback on student progress
- Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times
- Work flexibly with a variety of clients, including schools, councils, and private families
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths and English
- A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels
- Passion for teaching and working with students with SEN
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with check of the children’s barred list)
Preferred
- Experience working with students with severe SEN
- Previous experience in Foundation GCSE tuition
- Familiarity with the Bright Heart Approach
- Experience with online and in-person tutoring
