The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Foundation GCSE Maths and English Tutor to work with students in the Woking area. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives while working with a reputable and award-winning tutoring agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality tuition in Maths and English to students at Foundation GCSE level
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and those requiring additional academic guidance
  • Follow the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and education consultants
  • Attend training sessions and CPD opportunities to enhance teaching practice
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times
  • Work flexibly with a variety of clients, including schools, councils, and private families

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths and English
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels
  • Passion for teaching and working with students with SEN
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with check of the children’s barred list)

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with severe SEN
  • Previous experience in Foundation GCSE tuition
  • Familiarity with the Bright Heart Approach
  • Experience with online and in-person tutoring
