The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced French and Spanish Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a school at the forefront of educational innovation, while supporting students aged 2 to 13 in their language learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality French and Spanish lessons to students across a wide age range (2–13 years).
- Develop engaging and creative lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and values.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular projects and school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.
- Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school and Cognita.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and community engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching French and Spanish in a primary or secondary setting.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage students of all ages and backgrounds.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Flexibility to teach across a range of age groups and subjects.
Preferred
- Experience teaching in a multicultural or international school setting.
- Familiarity with the Brighton College or Cognita educational ethos.
- Proficiency in both French and Spanish, with the ability to teach both languages.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods or technology in the classroom.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
