The Opportunity:
As a French Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality language education to students from Year 7 through to Year 13. You will be expected to inspire students, contribute to the school’s pastoral and co-curricular life, and support the school’s mission of academic excellence and cultural enrichment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach French to students across all key stages, including Year 13 and Oxbridge applicants.
- Deliver extension work for high-achieving students and provide small-group GCSE speaking sessions.
- Contribute to the development of departmental resources and support the planning of French trips abroad.
- Lead and participate in extra-curricular activities, including language clubs and clinics.
- Support the school’s pastoral system by acting as a tutor within one of the school’s houses.
- Engage in the co-curricular programme, including the Games programme and leadership of school societies.
- Participate in the Masterclass programme, offering lessons on academic or cultural topics of personal interest.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching French at secondary level.
- Ability to teach French to Year 13 and provide extension for Oxbridge applicants.
- Strong academic background and cultural knowledge of French-speaking countries.
- Experience in inspiring and engaging students from Year 7 to Year 13.
Preferred
- Native or near-native fluency in French.
- Experience in planning and leading educational trips abroad.
- Experience in developing teaching resources and contributing to curriculum design.
- Background in extra-curricular leadership or involvement in school societies.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
