The Opportunity:
As a French Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring students to embrace the French language and culture. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that spark curiosity and build confidence in language learning, while contributing to a vibrant and supportive department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach French across Key Stages 3–5, with a second language at KS3.
- Design and deliver dynamic, student-centered lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Encourage students to communicate confidently and develop global perspectives.
- Support and lead extra-curricular activities, including trips and cultural experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and growth.
- Stay up to date with current teaching methodologies and integrate them into lesson planning.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school’s language department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching French, especially at Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for language and culture.
- Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching a second language at Key Stage 3.
- Familiarity with the use of technology in language teaching.
- Experience in delivering extracurricular activities or cultural programs.
- Knowledge of French literature, film, or music.
