The Opportunity:
The Gap Year Student Assistant - Sports and Classroom role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both sports coaching and classroom support. You will assist with coaching tennis and cricket, support PE lessons, and help with break-time sports clubs. This role also involves classroom-based duties, providing a well-rounded experience in a supportive and energetic school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with coaching tennis and cricket under the supervision of the games staff
- Support PE lessons and break-time sports clubs
- Help with classroom-based lessons and support teachers and students
- Assist with various break-time duties across the school
- Contribute to the delivery of extra-curricular activities
- Maintain a positive and supportive attitude towards students and colleagues
- Follow school policies and procedures at all times
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and other staff members
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Enthusiastic and motivated individual
- Willingness to learn and take on a variety of responsibilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to the welfare and safety of children
Preferred
- Experience of playing and coaching tennis and cricket
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of child development and teaching practices
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different areas of the school
