GCSE Maths and English Tutor with SEN experience in Woking.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced GCSE Maths and English Tutor to work with students in the Surrey area, including Woking. This role requires strong SEN experience and excellent communication skills. As a tutor, you will make a meaningful impact on students' lives through personalized and supportive teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality GCSE Maths and English tuition to students with special educational needs
  • Apply the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and academic confidence
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Communicate regularly with parents, schools, and other stakeholders to support student progress
  • Attend ongoing training and professional development sessions to enhance teaching methods
  • Ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times
  • Provide feedback and progress reports to parents and the school team
  • Collaborate with education consultants to maintain high standards of teaching and support

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
  • Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths and English
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Valid Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Current UK work permit or right to work in the UK
  • 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
  • Previous experience with students with severe SEN
  • Familiarity with online and in-person tutoring platforms
  • Experience with study techniques and life skills development
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one
