We are seeking experienced GCSE Maths and Science tutors who are passionate about education and working with students with special educational needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition in Maths and Science to GCSE students.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of students with special educational needs.
- Provide guidance on study skills and academic strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and learning outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents and education consultants.
- Follow safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Support students in building confidence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude towards learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK.
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths and Science at GCSE level.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
- University qualification or studying towards one, along with A-levels.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
Preferred
- Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods.
- Availability for afternoon tutoring sessions in the Guildford area.
- Experience in providing study skills support.
- Previous involvement in SEN training or workshops.
