The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced GCSE Maths Tutor to work with students in the Streatham Vale area. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students with special educational needs, while working with a respected and award-winning tutoring agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, one-to-one GCSE Maths tuition to students in the Streatham Vale area
  • Apply the Bright Heart Approach to support students with special educational needs
  • Build trust, confidence, and self-belief in students through a warm and nurturing style
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to each student’s needs
  • Communicate regularly with parents and educational professionals to track progress
  • Attend training sessions and safeguarding workshops to ensure best practices
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and session notes
  • Provide feedback to the agency on student engagement and learning outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Valid UK-based Enhanced DBS certificate with children’s barred list check
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels
  • Passion for teaching and supporting students with SEN

Preferred

  • Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP)
  • Familiarity with individual learning plans (ILPs)
  • Experience with online tutoring platforms
  • Previous experience with students lacking confidence or motivation
  • Ability to work evenings and flexible hours
