Seeking an experienced GCSE tutor with strong SEN experience in Esher.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced GCSE tutor to support students in Maths, Geography, and/or Classical Civilization. This role is ideal for someone passionate about teaching and working with students who need additional support. Candidates with experience in SEN are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality GCSE-level tuition in Maths, Geography, and/or Classical Civilization
- Support students with special educational needs using the Bright Heart Approach
- Build trust and confidence in students through a student-centred, nurturing style
- Follow safeguarding and child protection policies at all times
- Provide regular feedback to parents and education consultants
- Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching practice
- Collaborate with other tutors and education experts to ensure consistent support for students
- Develop individual learning plans that address both academic and personal needs
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths, Geography, and/or Classical Civilization
- University qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Passion for teaching and supporting students who require additional help
- Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives
- Familiarity with study techniques and strategies for students with SEMH needs
