The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dedicated Geography Curriculum Leader to lead and develop a thriving Geography department. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum delivery, inspire students, and contribute to a school that values innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an ambitious, coherently sequenced Geography curriculum across all key stages.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that promote student engagement and academic success.
  • Coordinate and lead fieldwork opportunities, including trips to the South coast and Stratford, East London.
  • Support and mentor Geography teachers to ensure consistent standards and professional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through regular evaluations and assessments.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of the school’s Christian ethos.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Humanities and other departments to enhance cross-curricular links.
  • Encourage innovative teaching methods and student participation in Geography learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Geography teacher, preferably at A-level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Geography.
  • Ability to plan and deliver a high-quality, engaging curriculum.
  • Commitment to student progress and pastoral care.
  • Willingness to contribute to the school’s Christian values and ethos.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or senior teaching roles.
  • Background in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
  • Experience with fieldwork planning and delivery.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
