The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a dedicated Geography Curriculum Leader to lead and develop a thriving Geography department. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum delivery, inspire students, and contribute to a school that values innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an ambitious, coherently sequenced Geography curriculum across all key stages.
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that promote student engagement and academic success.
- Coordinate and lead fieldwork opportunities, including trips to the South coast and Stratford, East London.
- Support and mentor Geography teachers to ensure consistent standards and professional development.
- Monitor and assess student progress through regular evaluations and assessments.
- Contribute to the development and promotion of the school’s Christian ethos.
- Collaborate with the Head of Humanities and other departments to enhance cross-curricular links.
- Encourage innovative teaching methods and student participation in Geography learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Geography teacher, preferably at A-level.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for Geography.
- Ability to plan and deliver a high-quality, engaging curriculum.
- Commitment to student progress and pastoral care.
- Willingness to contribute to the school’s Christian values and ethos.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum leadership or senior teaching roles.
- Background in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
- Experience with fieldwork planning and delivery.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
