The Opportunity:
As a Geography Subject Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and driving academic excellence in Geography. This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to influence teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Geography department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of Geography staff and students.
- Support colleagues through mentoring, training, and professional development.
- Ensure the Geography curriculum is aligned with school and Trust priorities.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in Geography education.
- Collaborate with other subject leaders and senior staff to enhance school-wide academic outcomes.
- Deliver Geography lessons to Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 with excellence and enthusiasm.
- Engage with students, parents, and the wider school community to promote Geography and its importance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography.
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
- Experience teaching Geography across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong knowledge of Geography curriculum and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and department leadership.
- Experience with evidence-informed teaching and learning strategies.
- Familiarity with the Central England Academy Trust and its values.
- Experience in driving academic progress and student achievement.
