The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Geography Teacher to join a well-resourced and successful department. The role involves teaching across all key stages, including A-Level, and contributing to a vibrant and innovative curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach up to 27 periods per week across all areas of Geography, including A-Level.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate fieldwork, real-world issues, and critical thinking.
  • Support students through residential and day trips that enhance learning and geographical enquiry.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the AQA and Edexcel Geography specifications.
  • Participate in the school’s House system and co-curricular activities.
  • Engage in Continuous Professional Development and contribute to departmental planning and strategy.
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a deep understanding of Geography.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic results and personal growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level.
  • Strong knowledge of the AQA and Edexcel Geography specifications.
  • Experience in planning and delivering fieldwork and independent investigations.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.

Preferred

  • Experience with spiral curriculum models and inquiry-based teaching.
  • Familiarity with teaching through driving questions and real-world issues.
  • Experience with residential and fieldwork trips.
  • Strong record of academic achievement and student progression.
  • Experience working in a school with a strong co-curricular programme.
