The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Geography Teacher to join a well-resourced and successful department. The role involves teaching across all key stages, including A-Level, and contributing to a vibrant and innovative curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach up to 27 periods per week across all areas of Geography, including A-Level.
- Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate fieldwork, real-world issues, and critical thinking.
- Support students through residential and day trips that enhance learning and geographical enquiry.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the AQA and Edexcel Geography specifications.
- Participate in the school’s House system and co-curricular activities.
- Engage in Continuous Professional Development and contribute to departmental planning and strategy.
- Foster a learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a deep understanding of Geography.
- Support students in achieving excellent academic results and personal growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level.
- Strong knowledge of the AQA and Edexcel Geography specifications.
- Experience in planning and delivering fieldwork and independent investigations.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
Preferred
- Experience with spiral curriculum models and inquiry-based teaching.
- Familiarity with teaching through driving questions and real-world issues.
- Experience with residential and fieldwork trips.
- Strong record of academic achievement and student progression.
- Experience working in a school with a strong co-curricular programme.
