Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage students and promote deep learning.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that support student achievement and progression.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives.
  • Support the development of students’ knowledge and skills across the Geography curriculum, including the ability to teach other humanities subjects at KS3.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to ensure alignment with school goals and policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Experience in teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A commitment to student achievement and the ability to deliver effective, engaging lessons.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching other humanities subjects at KS3.
  • Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in delivering CPD or mentoring new teachers.
  • Familiarity with current educational research and pedagogical approaches.
