Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage students and promote deep learning.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that support student achievement and progression.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives.
- Support the development of students’ knowledge and skills across the Geography curriculum, including the ability to teach other humanities subjects at KS3.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s commitment to continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the Head of Department to ensure alignment with school goals and policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Experience in teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- A commitment to student achievement and the ability to deliver effective, engaging lessons.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching other humanities subjects at KS3.
- Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in delivering CPD or mentoring new teachers.
- Familiarity with current educational research and pedagogical approaches.
