Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Plan and implement a dynamic curriculum incorporating local and global case studies.
  • Support students through a range of fieldwork opportunities, including trips to urban, coastal, and physical environments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance departmental teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure academic success and personal development.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Geography department.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure alignment with school goals and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Experience in teaching Geography at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with fieldwork planning and delivery.
  • Knowledge of outdoor education and environmental studies.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in Geography teaching.
  • Experience with teaching in a multi-academy trust setting.
