Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, innovative Geography lessons across KS3 to KS5.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and real-world application.
  • Support students in achieving academic success and personal growth through meaningful enrichment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities Team to enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Engage students in fieldwork and outdoor learning experiences, taking advantage of the local area’s natural and cultural resources.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continued development.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the broader educational vision of the institution.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, behaviour, and professional conduct in line with the school’s values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a closely related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Geography at KS3 to KS5 level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver inspiring and innovative lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of a positive learning environment.
  • Experience in curriculum planning and assessment.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental development.
  • Familiarity with fieldwork and outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language or working with diverse student groups.
  • A passion for Geography and a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
