Geography Tutor in London or Surrey with SEN experience and availability.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking passionate and experienced Geography Tutors to provide one-to-one and small group tuition for GCSE and A Level students in London and Surrey. Tutors will work with students who require additional support and will be trained in the Bright Heart Approach, which focuses on building trust, self-esteem, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored Geography lessons to GCSE and A Level students.
  • Support students with special educational needs and those requiring additional motivation or confidence-building.
  • Follow the Bright Heart Approach, ensuring lessons are warm, empathetic, and student-focused.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and safeguarding at all times.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians and provide progress updates.
  • Attend training sessions on safeguarding and tutoring best practices.
  • Work flexibly with a variety of students, including in their homes or at school.
  • Adhere to the school’s policies and procedures for teaching and student care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK.
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography at GCSE and A Level.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Availability for in-person tutoring, including daytime hours.
  • Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP).
  • Familiarity with creating bespoke learning plans for students.
  • Experience with teaching students who require additional motivation or support.
