The Opportunity:
We are seeking passionate and experienced Geography Tutors to provide GCSE and A Level tuition in London or Surrey. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective one-to-one and small group Geography lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Apply the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust, self-esteem, and confidence before progressing academically.
- Develop bespoke lesson plans to suit the learning style and pace of each student.
- Provide clear and structured feedback to students and parents to support progress and achievement.
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with education consultants and other tutors to ensure consistent and high-quality tuition.
- Attend regular training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Keep detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK.
- A current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
- Strong subject knowledge in Geography at GCSE and A Level.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- University qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Availability for in-person tutoring, including during the daytime.
Preferred
- Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP).
- Previous experience with students requiring additional academic or emotional support.
- Flexibility to work with a diverse range of students and learning environments.
- Experience in creating individual learning plans (ILPs).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
