The Opportunity:
A German Teacher is needed to deliver German A level (Edexcel) to non-native speakers, with the potential to teach a condensed version to native speakers. This part-time role offers flexibility, with teaching opportunities both in person and remotely, and the chance to work with small groups of highly motivated students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality German A level (Edexcel) lessons tailored to non-native speakers.
- Adapt teaching to accommodate both native and non-native speakers as required.
- Teach small groups of boys, personalising instruction to individual strengths and learning needs.
- Participate in school events, including Parents’ Evenings and report writing, where appropriate.
- Support students in developing their spoken German through additional tutoring opportunities.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Adhere to the school calendar and maintain high standards of academic and pastoral care.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to the school’s academic and cultural life.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher of German with experience in teaching A level (Edexcel).
- Ability to teach both native and non-native speakers.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching small groups or one-to-one tuition.
- Familiarity with remote teaching methods.
- Experience in delivering spoken German support or language assistant roles.
- Knowledge of boarding school environments and pastoral care.
