Girls PE Teacher job opportunity available for full-time position on maternity cover from January 2026.

The Opportunity:

A Girls PE Teacher is needed to join a supportive and dynamic team on a maternity cover basis from January 2026. The role offers the chance to lead and inspire students through a wide range of sports and physical activities, while contributing to the school’s vibrant extra-curricular programme and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach PE across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE, vocational Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that promote physical activity and performance.
  • Support and lead extra-curricular activities, including clubs, trips, and interform competitions.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and engagement in lessons and around the school.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Support students as a form tutor, working closely with the pastoral team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified to teach PE across all Key Stages.
  • Experience in delivering GCSE PE, BTEC Performing Arts – Dance, and Level 3 qualifications in Sport & Physical Activity.
  • Passionate about promoting physical activity and performance.
  • Committed to inclusive practice and supporting students of all abilities.
  • Enthusiastic about contributing to the wider life of the school through clubs, trips, and events.

Preferred

  • Experience with external coaching partnerships and sporting events.
  • Reflective practitioner with a commitment to professional development.
  • Experience in form tutoring or pastoral support.
