The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Girls PE Teacher to join our dynamic PE department on a maternity cover basis. The role involves teaching PE at Key Stages 3 and 4 and leading after-school clubs. This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT or experienced practitioner to make a meaningful impact on student development and school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach PE to Key Stages 3 and 4 students, ensuring engaging and effective lessons.
- Lead and manage extra-curricular sports clubs after school.
- Support the delivery of the PE curriculum in line with school and national standards.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall student experience.
- Monitor and assess student progress in PE, providing constructive feedback.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of PE equipment and facilities.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through additional duties and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant PE experience.
- Ability to teach PE at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to Catholic values and ethos.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities.
Preferred
- Experience in leading sports clubs or extra-curricular activities.
- Experience working with young people in a school setting.
- ECT or early career teacher with a passion for PE and student development.
- Knowledge of Catholic education and its principles.
