Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of music lessons across all levels, including composition, music technology, aural, sight-singing, and theory.
- Support students in developing their musical skills and confidence through individual and group instruction.
- Contribute to the life of the Music Department by participating in ensembles, performances, and extra-curricular music activities.
- Act as a resident tutor and provide pastoral support to students in a boarding house setting.
- Collaborate with senior staff to plan and deliver a high-quality, engaging music curriculum.
- Help maintain and develop the school’s strong music programme through innovative teaching and performance opportunities.
- Provide accompaniment for ensembles, rehearsals, and performances.
- Assist in the organisation of music-related events and competitions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A university degree or equivalent qualification.
- Strong musical ability, particularly in piano performance and accompaniment.
- A genuine passion for music education and a commitment to developing students’ musical talents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to live in a boarding house and provide pastoral support to students.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or assisting with music education.
- Experience with composition or music technology.
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
- Familiarity with a wide range of musical styles and genres.
