The Opportunity:
A Graduate Teaching Assistant is needed to support SEND learners across KS3 and KS4. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to student success and gain valuable experience in an inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the raising of attainment for SEND learners across KS3 and KS4.
- Assist in identifying and addressing social and emotional barriers to learning.
- Deliver targeted learning programmes that promote independence and confidence.
- Provide tailored support in 1:1, group, and whole-class settings.
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCo to assess needs and implement Individual Education Plans.
- Adapt and develop resources for EAL and SEND pupils.
- Support external services such as speech and language therapy and educational psychology.
- Assist with lesson planning and delivery, including one-to-one interventions.
- Observe, record, and provide feedback on student performance.
- Support behaviour management and pastoral care initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- Passion for supporting SEND learners and promoting inclusion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting SEND learners.
- Familiarity with High Performance Learning (HPL) principles.
- Experience with EAL support strategies.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
